I love makeup. Makeupy. Makeup. Makeup. Ron Burgundy voice. Did I mention I love makeup? I’ve been fiddling with the stuff since I was just a wee babe and haven’t given it up yet. Momma didn’t raise no quitter. She raised a makeupaholic. Sidenote: I’ve noticed that I have been some sort of aholic in a few posts so far lol. Today, I’m gonna share two perfect fall makeup items for your beauty bag!
First, let’s talk about Sephora’s recent launch of the new HUDABEAUTY Desert Dusk palette. Phew! That is a mouthful. And, I always want to say Huda Booty. Isn’t this baby gorgeous? It’s a perfect blend of 18 rich shadows ranging from glitters, shimmers, mattes, to duo-chromes. Do you hear that? Oh sorry, it’s just my heart thumping out of my chest!
I’ve debated on purchasing the original HUDABEAUTY Rose Gold palette forever, but never took the plunge. I read all the reviews on Sephora.com and even lamented to Bryan over my apprehension to shell out the $65. I’m sure he was glad I didn’t lol. But, then this palette was released! Overall, the reviews have been far more positive and I just couldn’t help myself. Sorry, Bry! At laaassst my love has come along. I’m sure I looked like a crazy swatch monster in the store, but it was all worth it when I placed that tasty treat in my little basket. My Precious!
Obviously, not everyone is willing to spend that much on a makeup palette. I get it. I have buyer’s remorse before I even purchase things. But, because I have light brown eyes, and most of the time it can feel like nothing really makes them pop, made it a must-have. Those purples, mauves, and berries are such great shades for darker eyes and played a huge factor in why I chose Desert Dusk over Rose Gold. Don’t be discouraged if you have any other eye color though because this palette will look amazing on you too!
The second item is Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade Lolita II. This is not new. It has been on the market for quite some time, but it’s new to me. As a follower of the line, I already have a handful of other lip shades as well as palettes, but never picked up any of the liquid lipstick Lolita versions because I already have the original Lolita in the Studded Kiss Lipstick formula. Oh, how wrong I’d been. Typically, I avoid liquid lipstick because I have a lot of lip lines which the drier formula accentuates—the horror—but this shade is beautiful and I don’t care who sees my wrinkly lips!
Paired together, the palette and lipstick make the perfect warm, cozy tone for autumn. I can’t stop reaching for these two items and I hope you find them as enjoyable as I do! Or, at least like looking at our pictures because they are purrty. Cheers!
