Happy New Year lovelies!
We took a little break for the holidays, but thankfully have caught up with some much-needed rest and are ready to get back at it. To start 2018, we wanted to share with you our recent family trip to Creme & Sugar in Anaheim Hills!
This little shop is absolutely adorable! Before I even get to the delicious menu, I quickly want to mention that the overall design aesthetic is rad. It has such a rustic yet modern vibe. Imagine if a prairie schoolhouse had a baby with an edgy coffee shop. Filled with eclectic wood pieces and dark accents that contrast with pops of color, the whole place screams modern tea party.
Now on to the yummies! If you have kids, or you’re just a kid at heart, you’re going to love the menu. There is so much to choose from. I’m not even kidding. I was a little overwhelmed by all the tempting options. They have ice cream, milkshakes, cakes, brownies, coffee, floats, and candy galore. Each item has a cute name like Mermaid, Cookie Monster, and Wonka’s River. Thankfully our cashier was a doll and I only wish I would have gotten his name! He helped Bryan and I pick a warm, gooey brownie sundae with coffee and Oreo cookie ice cream on top. You heard me! Coffee and Oreo ice cream. I never dreamed of such a combination, but I am so glad someone decided to play God and forge a new creation. A mighty fork battle began, and there were many wounds, but ultimately a victor was crowned. Honestly, I don’t even know why we bother sharing. Bryan knows he’s going to lose. We then washed down our 31958739289 calorie brownie with a Central Perk sized cup of coffee.
As you can see, I won the last drop and the brownie was baby approved. And, this was the sweet moment before the sugar hit that little monster’s tiny bloodstream and instantly triggered a primal urge to escape.
Poor Lunabella was forced to wait a few minutes for us to capture a nice shot of her Unicorn Milkshake. And, here is the beauty of all things cotton candy and rainbow poops. Of course, the turd ate all the candy on top, which included a candy bracelet, rainbow lollipops, sour strips, and other FDA approved candy drugs for children. Kidding…kind of. She left most of the milkshake, which I graciously finished for her. Over the lips and passed the gums. Look out stomach, here it comes!
They also had a cute little corner filled with jewelry, fairy dust, and mad hatter headbands for purchase. Why, oh why didn’t I buy something?! Those headbands are so adorable and could rival Disney any day!
As a side note, when we arrived we realized that the shop is located right next to Bryan’s dad’s favorite pizza shop, Pepz. We haven’t eaten there in years, but it instantly brought to mind many pizzas and good times. In the midst of chasing an angry baby and sugar high seven year old, it was nice to share the moment with Joe, even if only in memory.
In the end, Creme & Sugar was such a fun experience. We highly recommend taking a trip with the family or just for a special date night. There is plenty for any gender and age to enjoy.
